The real numbers first. Then what moves them, and the lower-cost option most quotes never mention.

A typical roof replacement in Calgary runs $13,000. That covers a common 2,000 square foot home with asphalt shingles. Bigger or more complex roofs get quoted $15,000 to $30,000. Steep pitch, extra tear-off layers and premium materials push the number up fast.
Calgary sits in Alberta's hail corridor, so reroofing quotes land on a lot of kitchen tables here. Use these ranges to sanity-check any quote you get. A number far above them needs a good explanation. A number far below them usually means something got left out.
One more thing before you sign anything. If your shingles are dry but still sound, you may not need a replacement yet. We cover that option, with its own real numbers, further down.
★★★★★ 5.0 on Google. We post our prices, so you can hold us to them.
Five price leversSize. Roofers price by the square, which is 100 square feet of roof. More squares, more shingles, more labour. This is the biggest lever by far.
Pitch. Steep roofs need harnesses, staging and slower work. A walkable roof costs less per square than a steep one your crew has to rope up for.
Tear-off layers. Some older Calgary homes carry two layers of old shingles. Every extra layer adds tear-off hours and disposal fees at the dump.
Materials. Builder-grade shingles sit at the bottom of the range. Class 4 impact-resistant shingles cost more up front. Some insurers give a discount for them, so ask yours before you choose.
Access. Tight lots, tall walls and long ladder carries slow everything down. Slower jobs cost more. So do homes far from the shingle supplier.
Worn shingles don't always mean a dead roof. Condition decides, not looks.
Here's what most replacement quotes leave out. Many Calgary roofs get replaced while the shingle mat is still sound. UV aging and chinook freeze-thaw cycles pull the oils out of asphalt shingles. They fade, shed granules, and show early curling. A salesperson looks up and says replace. But dry is not the same as done.
Roof rejuvenation treats the dryness instead of sending the roof to landfill. Most Calgary homes run $2,500 to $6,500. A typical 2,000 square foot roof costs about $3,000. The treatment adds 10 to 15 years, carries a warranty of up to 15 years, and is installed in under one day. Full numbers are on our pricing page.
Rejuvenation fits when:
Condition beats age every time. Our honest take on the cutoff is in how old is too old to rejuvenate a roof.
Side by side| Option | Typical cost (2,000 sq ft roof) | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Nano Shield rejuvenation | $3,000 most homes: $2,500 to $6,500 | 10 to 15 more years, warranty up to 15 years, done in under one day |
| Full replacement, typical home | $13,000 typically $13,000 | New shingles, days of tear-off noise, a bin on the driveway |
| Replacement, bigger or complex roof | $15,000+ commonly $15,000 to $30,000 | Steep pitch, extra layers or premium shingles at full labour rates |
Rejuvenation is not a forever fix, and we never sell it as one. It defers the big spend while your roof still qualifies.

Sometimes the five-figure spend is the right one, and we say so. No spray rescues a roof that's structurally done. Replace when you see this:
If that's your roof, get three itemized replacement quotes and check them against the ranges above. Pick the roofer who explains their number, not the one with the lowest one. And if you're not sure which side your roof is on, that's exactly what our free assessment answers. Book a visit and get photos of your own shingles with a straight answer.
