We clear the runs and downspouts, bag the debris, and show you photos of what came out. Including how much shingle granule was sitting in there.
Free photo report with every clean. If we spot a real roof problem up there, we tell you and show you. No sales pitch on your doorstep.
Most Calgary homeowners think of gutter cleaning as a leaves-and-twigs job. It is, mostly. But there is usually something else in there: a layer of coarse black sand at the bottom of the run.
That sand is shingle granule. It is the protective surface of your roof, and once it washes into the gutter it is not coming back. A handful is normal. A thick layer in every run means your shingles are drying out and shedding, which is the stage before curling, cracking and leaks.
You get the photos either way. What you do with them is up to you.
While we are up there, you get a proper look at the roof edge and the eaves.
Calgary crew, Calgary jobs. We are on roofs here every week.
A blocked gutter is a nuisance in July and a genuine problem in January. When a run cannot drain, water backs up under the shingle edge. In a Calgary winter that water freezes at the eave, builds an ice dam, and pushes meltwater back up under the roof where it does not belong.
Chinooks make it worse, not better. Repeated thaw and refreeze is exactly the cycle that lifts shingle edges and works water into places a dry roof would shrug off.
The fix is unglamorous: clear them before the first freeze, and check the downspouts actually run.
You do not need to be home. If a gate needs opening to reach the back, mention it when we call to confirm.
Every run and every downspout. The debris leaves with us. We flush and check the downspouts actually drain.
Before and after on each run, plus a clear shot of the granule that came out. Yours to keep, no obligation.
We are a roof rejuvenation company. Gutter cleaning is a service we do properly in its own right, and it also happens to put us on the one part of your property that tells us the most about your roof.
So here is the honest version. If the granule in your gutters says your shingles are drying out, we will show you the photo and tell you what we would do about it. If it does not, we will tell you that too and you have simply had your gutters cleaned by people who did a tidy job.
About half the roofs we look at do not need treating yet. We say so.
The gutter is where a drying roof shows up first.
Tell us where the house is and we will call you back to set a time, usually the same day.
We cover Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks, Chestermere and Strathmore.
Tell us where the house is. We call you back to set a time.
Once a year for most homes, in late autumn once the leaves are down and before the first hard freeze. Twice a year if you have mature trees hanging over the roof.
No. We only need access to the perimeter of the house. If a gate needs opening to reach the back, tell us when we call to confirm the time.
It leaves with us. We do not tip it on the lawn or into the flowerbeds.
Shingle granule. It is the protective surface of your roof. A small amount is normal wear. A thick layer in every run means the shingles are drying out and shedding, and that is worth knowing about before it turns into curling and leaks.
No. We will show you the photos and tell you what we see. About half the roofs we look at do not need treating yet, and we say so. If yours is one of them you have simply had your gutters cleaned properly.
Tell us the height when you book and we will confirm on the call. Most Calgary homes are fine; taller or awkward-access properties sometimes need different equipment.
We clear the runs, bag the debris and show you the granule that came off your own roof. If the roof is fine, we say so.
